Privacy

We need your address to tell you anything useful about your house, so we ask for it and then look it up in public records. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not run ad trackers. You can delete everything at any time from Settings, and it is actually deleted.

This page describes what the product genuinely does today. It is written to be read, not to protect us.

• Your account. Email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
• Your home. The address you enter, and what public records say about the property: year built, size, foundation, roof, heating and cooling, and similar basics.
• What you tell us. The systems and appliances you record, their ages and brands, what maintenance you have done, your notes, and anything you report through "I noticed something".
• Usage. Which pages and recommendations you open, and whether you mark something as new to you. We use this to work out whether the product is teaching people anything.
• If you turn them on. Notification preferences and, for browser notifications, the subscription token your browser issues.

We do not ask for payment details, because there is nothing to pay for yet.

Your address or coordinates are sent to these services so we can look up facts about your property. Each receives only what it needs, and none of them are told who you are.

• United States Census Bureau, to standardise your address and turn it into coordinates.
• Your county assessor, currently Mecklenburg County in North Carolina, for property records and building permits.
• FEMA and the United States Geological Survey, for flood zone and ground elevation, using coordinates only.
• The National Weather Service, for the forecast at your coordinates.
• RentCast, only if property records are unavailable in your area and we have it configured.

These also handle data for us:

• Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in.
• Anthropic processes assistant conversations. If you use the assistant, it receives your question, your city and state, and details of the systems being discussed. It is not given your street address. If you upload a photo or an inspection report, that file is sent for analysis.
• Resend sends reminder emails, so it receives your email address.
• The Consumer Product Safety Commission is queried for safety recalls by product type and brand. Nothing about you is sent.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

If you invite someone into your household, they can see that home and everything recorded against it, including your notes and maintenance history. You can remove them at any time from Settings. Invite carefully, because it is the same view you have.

Your data stays until you delete it. Deleting a home removes its property records, systems, maintenance history, notes, issues, timeline and notifications. Deleting your account removes your homes and your profile.

Usage statistics are kept after deletion so we can still tell whether the product works, and they remain linked to an account identifier rather than being anonymised. If you would rather those went too, email us and we will remove them.

• Correct anything we got wrong about your house, at any time, from My Home. Your answer always overrides public records.
• Delete a home or your whole account from Settings.
• Turn off email and browser notifications from Settings.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or for its deletion, by email.

If you are in California, or somewhere else with similar rules, these are the rights those laws give you and you do not need to cite a law to use them. Just ask.

Access is enforced in the database itself, so one household cannot read another's data even if the application has a bug. Traffic is encrypted. That said, this is an early product built by a very small team, it has not had an external security audit, and you should weigh that before you record anything you would be upset to lose or expose.

This is a product for homeowners and is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
